E-Governance Architecture and Standards"- Brainstorming
Session at IIM

The department of Information Technology
Government of India has
constituted an Apex Body on Standards which is
charged with the design of
broad policy frame work for development of
standards for E-Governance
initiatives in India. One of the key
priority areas identified for
development is "E-Governance Architecture and
Standards". E-Governance
architecture and standards initiative will
recommend the design of
appropriate set of policies specifications and
guidelines governing the
information flow across various Government sector
agencies. It aims to
create a common basis across the Government and
public sector for cost
effective delivery of e-Governance to the public and
other end users.
In this connection a full day workshop is being organised at
the Indian
Institute of Management Bangalore on February 17,2006 . This
workshop is
intended as a brain- storming session. Some of the issues which
could be
discussed are:
1. Process Architecture for
e-Governance
-Process standards for e-Governance
Project
management - Process Reengineering
Maintenance and Service
Quality
2. Re-usability of Software for e-Governance
3. Middleware and
technology standards
4. Service oriented architecture for
e-Governance
5.. Interaction with International standards committee and
international
forums in this domain.
6. Procedure for evaluation of
standards and ensuring conformance
7. Setting up and supporting framework for
implementation.
8. Any other topics relevant to e-Governance architecture and
standards.
