WS-I publishes new profiles and usage scenarios for public review
<p>The WS-I Board of Directors has appointed Ram Jeyaraman, Microsoft, as chair of the Basic Profile Working
Group. Ram currently works as a technical diplomat in the Windows Communications Framework Web Services team
at Microsoft. WS-I would like to thank departing chair Chris Ferris, IBM, for his significant contributions
over the past four years.</p>
<p>The WS-I Board of Directors has appointed Skip Snow, Citigroup, as chair of the Requirements Gathering Working Group.
Skip is senior vice president and chief SOA architect in the Office of Enterprise Technology at Citigroup. Skip replaces
Bob Freund, Hitachi Software, who was recently appointed chair of the new Reliable Secure Profile Working Group.</p>
<p>As a result of the appointment of Bob Freund, Hitachi Software, as chair of the new Reliable
Secure Profile Working Group, WS-I is looking to fill the chair position for the Requirements
Gathering Working Group. The Requirements Gathering Working Group works to identify and
understand Web services interoperability issues, and to develop requirements for new WS-I profiles.
This is done by analyzing business scenarios and use cases that are submitted by the membership
and the industry at large. </p><p>If you are a member of WS-I and would like to provide a nominee for either position, please contact

<p>The WS-I Board of Directors has appointed Bob Freund, Hitachi Software, as chair the Reliable Secure
Profile Working Group. Freund has been an active participant of WS-I for several years and most recently
was chair of the Requirements Gathering Working Group.</p>
<p>The WS-I Fall Community Meeting will take place October 17-19, 2006 at the Santa Clara Marriott
in Santa Clara, Calif. WS-I Community Meetings are held three times a year and provide an excellent
opportunity for members to meet face-to-face to advance the technical work of the organization. More
information about the Fall Community Meeting will be available shortly.</p>
