Aims and Objectives

e-GovWorld 2006 (South Asia) is the second conference in the series of International  conferences/expositions aimed at enhancing collaboration and exchange of learning practices among the  industry, academia, civil society organizations and the public sector. The first conference in the series titled e-GovIndia2004 was held in Chandigarh, India where Indian and European e-Government stakeholders exchanged their experiences.

Organizers

 The Society for promotion of e-Governance (SPeG) is an independent non profit organization registered as a society with government of India. The organization is actively involved in research, consulting, training and advocacy programs aimed at accelerating e-Government, m-Government and e-Democracy initiatives.  Commonwealth Centre of e-Governance, India is part of the global think tank organization associated in various research and consultation activities on e-Government. The details of the organization are available at http://www.electronicgovindia.net

Delegate Profile

e-GovWorld 2006 (South Asia) and the country consultation meetings will be attended by the key people from the following domains:

  • Key administrators/e-Government practitioners from  Central Government Ministries, State Government, Local Authorities, Government Agencies and other relevant government organizations from South Asia and e-Government resource persons from across the globe. There is a plan to hold the conclave of political representatives from South Asia.

  • Industry solutions providers and Small-Medium Enterprises (SMEs) including ICT Companies providing e-Government and e-Commerce Solutions in South Asian region

  • Universities: Professors, Lecturers, Consultants and Administrators  from all over the world

  • Chambers of commerce and other associations, Community Leaders and Community-based Organizations from South Asian region.
