Vijay Kapur is the National Technology Officer at Microsoft India. Prior to joining Microsoft, he was the CIO/CTO of a managed IT services company, setting up their technology and delivery systems, doing extensive work on ITIL and BS 15000 standards. Vijay also served in the Army for over 16 years where his various assignments included working on the design and management of IT projects and developing and executing the IT Strategy for the Army. While in the Army, he also served as the IT Advisor to the Chief of the Army Staff and was responsible for the development and management of the website www.vijayinkargil.org as part of the information warfare campaign during the Kargil Operations. Vijay has a Master’s degree in Design of Information Systems from Cranfield University, UK (2001). At Microsoft, Vijay is responsible for dealing with technology policy and strategy including standards. He was part of the team that worked with NIC on the IFEG in 2004. |
