Mr. Himesh Misra

Himesh Misra is currently the General Manager, Open Standards, IBM India.

Himesh works out of IBM’s Bangalore office. His current role involves working closely across the Brand and Coverage teams in IBM India, helping demonstrate IBM’s leadership in Open Standards in customer engagements in large vertical industries. His current assignment also requires him to work closely with the Government policy makers, and also with SI and ISV Companies, for fostering cooperation and collaboration on Open Standards. Himesh also works with academia and professional developers community on Open Source projects.

Himesh’s current role helps IBM and industry to ensure that the end customer solutions are based on Open Standards, such that they create considerable sustainable business value to the customers. This also ensures that Open Standards propel innovation, avoid vendor lock-in, and thus fuel industry growth and opportunities which could not have been possible before.

Himesh is an IT professional with over 25 years of experience in leading companies in India. Out of this, he has over 12 years of rich and varied experience at IBM India and IBM Asia Pacific, in Systems Engineering/Systems Integration, Application Management Services, ISV Relations, Strategy and Marketing. In addition, he has over 13 years of experience in Application Development Life Cycle Phases, Information Strategy planning, and leading in-house IT Departments, with two large Tata companies in Manufacturing industry in India.

Himesh is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from IIT Kanpur.
