Professional Experience

BEA Systems India                                                                          2000-Present
Head,Professional Services (2000 – Present)

  • Management of 10 man technical team. The team is located at Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai and assists BEA customers in architecture and implementation of IT solutions based on BEA products. The customers include Bharti Televentures, SBI Life, Reliance Infocomm, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, Bombay Stock Exchange, National Stock Exchange, Citibank, HLL, Container Corporation of India, NTPC, AFL, ICICI Web Trade, Indian Railways, etc.
  • Design of Service Oriented Architecture for large enterprise projects at Indian Railways and Citibank, India.
  • Pre-Sales support to marketing team. This includes understanding of customer requirements and positioning BEA products in the solution stack.
  • Consulting support to BEA operations in the Asia Pacific region for customers like United Overseas Bank and Chartered Semiconductor in Singapore, Silterra in Malaysia, etc.

BEA Systems Inc - Sunnyvale, California                                         1994 - 2000
Principal Consultant (1994 - 2000)

  • Lead Architect for Enterprise Application Integration (EAI)  project at Winstar, Virginia integrating their existing Order entry and billing systems (Kenan Arbor BP).
  • Team lead for an EAI application  at IXC, Austin. Design and Development of e-Link Adapters for Clarify and Kenan Arbor BP.
  • Implementation of SAP, PeopleSoft, Oracle, XML adapters in a Proof Of Concept at Compaq, Houston. Compaq went ahead with the purchase of BEA’s eLink products after the Proof Of Concept.
  • Integration of PeopleSoft with JAVA applications at Cornell University.
  • Architecture Design Review, Performance Tuning and on-site support at PeopleSoft, Pleasanton. Design and Development of E-Link Adapter for PeopleSoft.
  • Architecture Design Review, Performance Tuning and on-site support at Ameritech, Chicago.
  • Application Design Review at Lucent Technologies, New Jersey. The system has been developed by Lucent to manage AT&T’s entry into the local  Telecommunications market.
  • Performance Tuning at Ameritech Communications Inc, Chicago. ACI developed this system to aid Ameritech’s launch into the long distance market.
  • Design of training course in ‘3-Tier Architecture’ for Oracle Consultants. Over 100 Oracle consultants have attended this training.
  • Coordinating software development of 7-member team at Veteran Affairs, Chicago. Design and development of Reports module using ‘C’ and Oracle on Sequent. Code review of Tuxedo services developed by over 20 programmers.
  • Project Manager of 6 member team developing a Prescription Drug system for Liberty Health, Toronto. The Prescription Drug system has been developed using C++, Tuxedo and Oracle on Solaris.
  • Design, Development and Implementation of Benchmark at Lockheed Martin, Florida. The benchmark was run on HP-UX10.0 and measured performance of Tuxedo domains and /Q (a Tuxedo message queuing product).
  • Design, Development and Implementation of X.25 and TCP/IP interface for Prospective Health. The interface accepts Drug Prescription claims via TCP/IP or X.25 and converts them to FML buffers to be processed by Tuxedo services.
  • Design and Development of an in-house application demonstrating use of MIBs (Management Information Base) and events to manage message queues in Tuxedo.
  • Development and Maintenance of Prescription Drug System for John Hancock, Boston. The System has been developed using Tuxedo, Informix and C++ on SunOS.

 

IIS INFOTECH Limited - Delhi, India                                                1990 - 1994
Associate Consultant (1993-1994)

  • Project Leader of a Works Management system for a utilities company in UK. The system provides facilities for recording, scheduling and tracking Work Orders. The system was developed using ‘C’, AIX on the front-end and COBOL, DB/2 on the back-end.
  • Project Manager of a 7 member team which developed a Data Capture tool for a Saudi Bank. The tool captures information from applications developed in IDEAL and feeds it to a Prokit Workbench. The tool was developed using C on MS-DOS.

Assistant Consultant (1990-1993)

  • Design and Development of a Direct Marketing system. The system helps the marketing manager to launch highly targeted marketing campaigns. The system has been extensively used by Natwest - UK’s largest bank. The front-end was developed using Application Manager on OS/2. The back-end was developed using ‘C’ and has been ported to various platforms including OS/2, MVS and Tandem.

Systems Executive (1989-1990)

  • Analysis, Design and Development of a Material Management system for a manufacturing company. The system keeps track of materials received, issued, returned and consumed in an organization. The system was developed using FOCUS on MS-DOS

TATA CONSULTANCY SERVICES - Delhi, India                                  1986 - 1987
Programmer (1986-1987)

  • Development of an office automation system for the Government of India. The system keeps track of mail received, dispatched, personnel information and scheduling of meetings. The system was developed in COBOL on VAX.
