States level Workshops
1. Act on behalf of Govt. of India and design the broad Policy Framework for setting standards.
2. Approve the broad areas in which standards need to be developed.
3. Provide ongoing guidance to the different Working Groups on the issues of strategy, conflict resolution and the Processes to be put in place for adoption of standards at the appropriate steps/stages .
4. Approve the Standards proposed after ensuring that the Groups have followed due processes, before a standard is recommended for adoption.
5. Ensure that the Standards recommended are in conformity with the relevant International Standards where appropriate.
6. Mandate the implementation of Standards in various States and Central Govt. Ministries/Departments wherever required ,otherwise recommend the same.
7. Periodically review the functioning of the processes laid for standardization.
8. Allocate the annual budget,taking into consideration the size of the Groups and their deployment in various areas.
9. Constitute Working Groups as and when required and decide on the life of the Working Groups with suitable Terms of Reference.
10. Create a supporting framework for implementation, testing and quality assurance where required.
